Comic book readers have not embraced digital electronics in the numbers as eBook readers and there is a good reason why. While some do, most people buy books for their entertainment and educational value but are not attached to the book's monetary value. Comic book fans are different. They collect issues religiously and rare editions can be very valuable indeed. Some comic books are not even read but sealed and stored like works of art.

Small wonder why digital comics are not as popular - how do you value an MP4 file or resell it?  But Apple's iPad may be an attractive venue for digital comics publishers and could entice some of the casual comic fans to send some of their hard earned money.
