Boeye E900 - the Kindle DX clone

Picture

If there was ever a leader in the large e-Reader category it would be the Kindle DX which has Amazon's marketing muscle behind it. But this competitor from Chinese manufacturer, Boeye OEM, is a carbon copy of the DX right down to its dimensions and specifications.

Its the Boeye E900 e-Book reader  and adopts most of Kindle DX features a such as: a 9.7-inch screen with 825 x 1200 resolution and already compatible with both Wi-Fi and bluetooth connection, 3G system, 128MB built-in flash memory, microSD card slot and text-to-speech support.

They have copied everything except maybe the color and the Amazon brand. The one thing they offer is it supports all formats and may be more configured for the Chinese & Japanese language but they don't have Amazon's whispernet wireless network and will not have the equivalent system in place. The Boeye E900 is cheaper at $400.00 US compared to the DX at $489.00 US but both might be in trouble with the release of the Apple iPad.
